One of my favorite contemporary platform bed is the Milano Contemporary Platform Bed, which comes in solid wood frame in super-dark chocolate color. Actually in real life, you can barely tell it’s actually a bit brown and looks black.
I personally used to have this exact platform bed for years and simply loved it.
Why?
It’s solid, the headboard really complements your modern bedroom, plus you don’t need a box spring, you can just set your mattress on top and forget it. Also, instead of a box spring, you can get the optional drawers and turn your bed into a storage space for your clothes. Kill two birds with one stone, why not?
This style is very common and you will find it in furniture stores everywhere but I still love this style and highly recommend it to anyone who’s getting their first platform bed.
Other than that, it’s super easy to setup and the platform bed comes off into nice pieces so you can easily move it when you move to a new place.
Here’s what it looks like without the drawers on the bottom. When I had this bed I didn’t buy the drawers with it but I highly recommend getting the drawers as without it on hardwood floors, you will get a lot of dust under your bed and very hard to clean.
